Pink Popcorn

Pink Popcorn
INGREDIENTS:

- 2 tablespoons popcorn kernels
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 drop of pink colouring
- 3-4 tablespoons icing sugar (or melted white chocolate)
- a pinch of salt to taste

METHOD:

1. Heat vegetable oil in a medium-sized pot. Then melt butter in oil.
2. Sprinkle some popcorn kernels into the pot and swirl the pot to coat them evenly in oil. Add a pinch  of salt.
3. Cover the pot with a lid and turn heat to medium. Once the kernels start popping, turn heat to low. Leave the lid slightly ajar to let the steam escape. Shake the pot vigorously once or twice to allow the rest of the kernels to pop. Popping will slow down after 1 to 2 minutes. When it comes to a complete stop, transfer it to a large bowl.
4. Put icing sugar and water in the same pot and bring it to a boil. Add a small drop of pink colouring. Stir until the icing sugar is completely dissolved. The sugar mixture should now have a caramel consistency to it. (or just melted chocolate)
5. Pour the popcorn back into the pot and stir quickly until it is evenly coated with the sugar mixture.
6.Use a spoon to drizzle the melted chocolate or icing sugar across the popcorn. Mix the popcorn    around with the spoon to evenly distribute the chocolate. Then place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Finally, serve and enjoy!

How to Make Ice Cream in a Bag in 5 Minutes

Instant Ice-Cream

   Things You'll Need:
  * sandwich & quart
    zipper bags
  * 1/2 cup milk
  * 1 tbsp sugar
  * 1/2 tsp peppermint
     essence
  * 2 drops of green
    food colouring
  * 6 tbsp salt
  * 2 cups ice cubes

     This works great for those late night cravings when you're out of ice cream, is quick and easy for
     children to do as well,and can be made for a single servings or a whole family! Difficulty: Easy

Gather necessary ingredients. If you
want to increase the amount you will
have to use larger bags

Mix a the liquids and sugar. Pour into
smaller size bag and seal closed.Put
ice cubes and salt into larger size bag.
Place the bag with milk mixture into
the ice mixture bag and seal closed.

Make sure bags are sealed  COMPLETELY, hold bag with both hands and shake for 5-10                    min. You will feel the ice cream getting thicker.

When ice cream is desired thickness, remove bag from ice mixture.
 Wipe the outside of bag with rag or dish towel to remove salt.
If you do not do this, you will have salty ice cream.
Open your ice cream, pour into cup, and enjoy!

Betty Spagetti hot dogs

My little girl was turning 8 and she decided on a "sleep over party" so the food had to be fun too. She loves Betty spagetti dolls so we decided to use a little imagination to make an edible "Betty spagetti"

We used spagetti and frankfurters they are best because they do not split easily when cooked . Each child carefully made their little dolls with pre-cut sausage for the head, body, arms and legs. Some became really creative and added hair. It was great fun for everyone.

  We cooked them in pots of water two at a time (otherwise they will get all tangled)
We then put them into ordinary hot dog rolls and they were ready for the next step

Then for the finishing touches some tomatoe sauce or mustard

Finally "YUMMY" they were all ready to eat

A chocolate lovers dream!

Here is the latest cake from Monkey and me Sweets. It is double chocolate cake covered with milk chocolate, modeling chocolate, and fondant. A chocolate lovers dream!

Scott Smith

1st Birthday

A quick "renovation".

A small party and a small in-expensive cake was needed. So off I went to the Home Industry up the road. I bought a Bar-One cake (I don't trust my own baking), then went to Crazy Store and bought speckled eggs and a cute fairy wall hanger. I bought the birthday girl's name letters at Baby City and placed them on the cake (propping them up against the fairy wall hanger). I then added the speckled egg border and a candle - the "renovation" was complete!

Dora

Hi, hiermee foto's van my driejarige Nicola se verjaarsdag partytjie - tema - Tea Party.
